Man! I try and update my blog a few times a week but I just can't seem to do it. May-be I'm asking to much of myself. I am working less as of this week, making way for STUDY! Yep I'm finally going to get myself some more education. I am doing a Diploma Of Counselling (part time) to start with and I begin in 2 weeks time. I am super pumped to be embarking on a new adventure, 'cause I sure have been feeling very stale. I'd eventually like to work in schools (primary) and work with kids that need guidance and a helping hand. Who knows what the future has install, all I know is that I am taking some action!
I've been frantically trying to hand quilt my besties 40th quilt ( her birthday was in November). We are catching up early June and I want to have it ready for then.
Another girlfriend and I are going to do a quilt sampler project, be sure to let me know if you want to play along.
I'm head over heels in love with Lena Dunham and her show, girls. It's set in NY and revolves around 4 middle class early 20's white chicks and the shit they get up to, and yeah I remember the shit I used to get up to and I relate (although it was a long, long, long time ago). In my 20's I lived in Carlton/ Clifton Hill & Fitzroy, lived at The Punters Club and went and saw bands 4 nights a week. I lived in crazy shared house holds and drank waaaaaay to much. I met my husband when I was 25 and that's when all the SUPER crazy shit stopped ( well slowed down). Now I live in suburbia with my husband and two kids and it's just different 'grown up' shit that happens now. So give me girls to watch anytime, nice to visit, wouldn't want to go back.

So the little lady turned 2 last Saturday. You know I will never underestimate what pregnancy and birth do to me mentally and physically. I've really taken the time to embrace baby number 2, both kids keep me grounded .

mojo working
You know I've been blogging (albeit on and off) since 2005. Our first baby girl was nearly 1 and I had been looking at craft blogs for about a year prior. So many excellent things have come from blogging :
So our second baby girl is about to turn 2 and looking back on the past 2 and a bit years, I've realised that I lost my mojo to a degree. Priorities change when babies come onto the scene and I could no longer put my all into mixtape so I let it go (no regrets it had an AWESOME run, however I may have wrapped it up a little neater in retrospect). I also had no desire to write a personal blog as all of my energy needed to be with our newborn. I have been a BIG softy with #2, BIG softy! Nothing wrong with that, but it's only been in the last two months that I feel like my hormones have settled and I can concentrate on other things that are just for me, I feel I have my mojo back. Things for me include, quilting, making things for friends, yoga, spending time in the garden and OF course Pinterest & Instagram.
I write a couple of blogs for work, the first one being Bizness Babes and the other Mulgrave Makers Market - these two blogs have kept me on social media, when all I wanted to do was shut up shop. I am grateful to my bosses for believing in me and persisting with me - when I couldn't.
As I began to write this post this morning I saw that I had had a couple of comments and to be honest with you my heart smiled - I had forgotten that feeling! They were from Kylie & Kate -- so a big thanks gals! I am going to start leaving comments on blogs I dig, yes I am!
Today is the last day of the school holidays and what a holiday it has been. We've ended the holidays with a stay over at friends in Ballarat.
This was the clan last night watching "Spy Kids".
One of the things I aim to do for me is work through the tasks in this book ---------
and to look after myself more and more form the inside out!!

Listening: Led Zep
Reading: Toddler Taming
Watching: Bridesmaids ( finally! what a pisser)
- great real life and online friendships
- mixtapezine
- stitch 'a' ramas
- craft shows
- markets
- and most of all, a connection to something bigger.

The Lorax
Went to see The Lorax in 3D with the big girl today. We both loved it. Such a great story with the environmental message - just perfect for the 7 year old to understand why we need to look after what we have, and to take responsibility for the choices we make.
My friends little girl is turning 4 and we are off to her birthday party on Friday - I'm making her a cushion. I have been delving into my stash, using my extra special 'one day' fabric. It's actually a great feeling to be working my way through my stash.
This time next week I will be turning 39. Man I still feel 25 on the inside.
I'm working on my 40 things list, to be posted here later in the week.
Hey honey! I'd really love these Van's...
